This page is dedicated to the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka dog breed. These lovely little dogs are also known widely as Bolonka Zwetna, Franzuskaya Bolonka and Russian Lapdogs. Breed ancestry is derived from: Brichon, Toy Poodle, Shih Tzu, Pekingese and French Bolognese. The white version is the Franzuskaya Bolonka, which is a variation of the Italian Bolognese dog. Franzuskaya is the Russian word for French, and Zwetna is the German word for multi-coloured. Bolonkas are usually Black, Brown, Grey, Red, Wolf-Grey and white. The Bolonka dog breed is recognised in many European countries and by the American Kennel Club for competition. Recognition in the UK is progressing but not yet finalised. Several breeders and owners in the UK use our Pioneer Herbal CAREWASH Herbal Liquid Soap to keep their dogs skin free from irritants such as fleas, mites, ticks and flying, biting insects. Our Pioneer Herbal Kennel Clear spray is perfect for these little beauties, keeping their kennels, baskets, clothing, toys and transport kennels free from all of the above - and more besides.

Lovely examples of Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka dog breed, owned by Carole Harvey.
Carole introduced the breed to the UK and is a very active breeder and trainer who also shows the breed. The male Bolonka is 22-27cm (roughly 8 to 11 inches) high, and from 3.5 - 5Kg (7 - 10 lbs),  with the female around 18-24cm (7-10 inches), and 2-4 Kg (4-9 lbs). Coat is curly or wavy.  Bolonka dogs are bred to be hypoallergenic and so may be suitable for people who may have allergies. Dog breeds that don't shed keep their saliva and dander on their hair, so it is not released into the environment. As the Bolonka is frequently trimmed and brushed this removes hair, dander and saliva so they are more likely to be hypoallergenic.
Have a look at the Facebook Group: Official Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka Club UK for more information and contacts for these beautiful dogs.
